Sounds like Ash likes the look of this guy and coming from Bournemouth Poppies you'd expect him to be cheap.

I obviosuly havent seen this guy yet, have you been impressed by him?

I was really impressed with him on saturday - his second goal was simply sublime - he took it around a few players, got into a one on one with the keeper and skillfully took it around him and placed it in the back of the net...
He was definitely raw but looked like the sort of player who could develop into something quite special...
Worth noting that Cassius Newton looked OK as well - son of Eddie Newton...
I know that there's a gulf in class between us and Springfield Hotel but it all boded really well and as Tom has said on another post you could see that there was spirit in abundance..
In other news, the real ale (Piddle Ale) went down really well in the bar.. Do you reckon we could get through a 72 pint barrel of different ales for home games? I reckon that would probably be the case?

Sean
If you keep giving me free pints, then I happily would join in the 72 pint challange. _________________ If you can read this thank a teacher. If you are reading this in English, thank a soldier

I would be inclined to offer Rico something like non contract / week to week to begin with. He certainly has pace to burn and showed a couple of nice touches however i agree with what Sean said he is still very raw, tho bringign him on with 15 to 20 minutes to go could be a useful weapon when defenders are getting tired. _________________ AFC Bournemouth and Dorchester Town Till the Day I DIE!

Whoa whoa whoa... Sean watched a game that we won. How long since Dorch last did that Sean?! _________________ I came here to drink milk, and kick a*se...and I've just finished my milk.

Pay as you play ?
Think most of the trialists should be given that. Saves people coming here from nothing clubs, sitting on the bench and getting paid about triple what they used to be on. _________________ If you can read this thank a teacher. If you are reading this in English, thank a soldier

Most of the younger players we have on trial could probabaly get as much as we offer or more from the likes of Poole Town or Wimborne. If any of them sign here it will be about them wanting to play at the highest possible level and hopefully develop as a player under Ash. _________________ Welcome to the wonderful world of the football forum, where the fan is king and his word gospel.

Talking of younger players.. whats happening with Jamie Symes? Seems a bit strange that he's being courted by league teams, but doesnt get a look in with us. Is he old enough to sign a contract? (Although I guess it doesnt matter so much with him being U24.)

guys i need some help. My father Kenneth symes played for the magpies from 1951to 1956. his 80th birthday is August 10th. i am trying to get info from that era stats and player rosters season records. anything i can find. if you know of any web sites that might have this info i would appreciate it. so far i have struck out trying to go back this far. we live in florida so popping round to the library is out of the question.
thanks Steven

IT crowd is fecking awesome mate. You ever seen Garth Marenghi's Darkplace? Richard Ayoade and Matt Berry are in that too and it's funny as f*ck. _________________ I came here to drink milk, and kick a*se...and I've just finished my milk.

If you're a cheap barsteward then you can watch them all for free on youtube as long as you're willing to go through 4 on demands ads at the start. There are only 6 episodes but it's just brilliant.
This is the sixth episode. 6 minutes in is one of my favourite moments of tv ever. Matt Berry sings "One Track Lover" with Richard Ayoade rapping.
"One of the main reasons I got into medicine was the laughs. Well, that and the pussy and that dried up years ago if you'll pardon the expression". _________________ I came here to drink milk, and kick a*se...and I've just finished my milk.
